REVIEW: Find Your Adventure in Onward

Do you still have the magic, Bingers? In the latest movie from Disney and Pixar, Onward, we’ll realize that we still got the magic, it’s just that no one bothers to do it anymore when there is a much more convenient way. And because of that, we have been so gotten used to the familiar and what’s right in front of us. In the world of Onward where the centaurs, pixies, and elves are no longer how we used to know them, lies an unexpected treasure waiting to be uncovered. We joined the adventure of the Lightfoot brothers and found ourselves falling off our seats from laughing one second and sobbing after. Read more about REVIEW: Find Your Adventure in Onward

REVIEW: Birds of Prey - It's A Man's World No More

This is a man’s world no more. Warner Bros. Pictures and DC scream women power in Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn! Last Saturday, February 1, Warner Bros. Pictures invited us to the special screening of Birds of Prey at the IMAX Theatre in SM Megamall! Before the usual screening, the studio surprised us with several treats such as the Pink Pudding from M Bakery. This new treat is a mix of their classic Banana Pudding and a Confetti Cake. The banana-dessert-lover in me approves. Now that we’re powered up with a dessert, the night was hyped even more with a dance number to the soundtrack of the movie from Warner Music Philippines. The most exciting surprise that night, however, was the 6-minute preview for the upcoming Christopher Nolan film, Tenet. I barely grasped what was happening but it was too intense, I just know I am in! And now on to the main show. Bingers, here is our review of Birds of Prey: The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn.

"How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World" Braces For An Emotional Goodbye

Goodbyes are never meant to be happy. It will always be a bittersweet moment. Each farewell carry more weight with time. Without sounding too emotional about this, How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is one of the saddest moments in modern cinema. Sure, Disney-Pixar Up crushed my heart and Marley and Me had me bawling my eyes out. DreamWorks How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, however, destroyed me emotionally. Bingers, here is my piece about the beautifully tragic conclusion to this much-beloved movie franchise.

3 Ways Bumblebee is Easily the Best Transformers Movie

Okay, Bingers. Confession time: I HATED THE TRANSFORMERS MOVIE. I mean, sure I watched every single one of them but my hatred for them grew with each one. The first one was fun but things got worse with every entry in the franchise. It was as if Michael Bay did no longer care for the plot and focused only on fights and explosions. With that said, I was a little hesitant about the Bumblebee Movie. When United International Pictures invited me to the special advanced screening at the IMAX Theatre in SM Megamall last January 6, Sunday, I half-wittingly attended. But boy, did the movie take me by surprise! I am going to say it now: Bumblebee Movie is easily the best Transformers movie and here are the reasons:

'Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald' Steps Away from the Shadows of Harry Potter

Bingers, I am pretty sure most of us grew up watching the Harry Potter movies and even read all the books. JK Rowling has been our hero at some point in our lives. The 7 novels have been adapted greatly into 8 films. Yet, we still craved for more. We still wanted to know more about the universe Rowling has created. We got Pottermore and in 2016, we got Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The movie was loosely a prequel to the events of Harry Potter. In fact, it goes way way back. And to be quite honest, I did not like it then. It felt like an opportunity for the franchise to get something out of nostalgia. Surprisingly, its sequel Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald took me by surprise with how much improvement it has been than the first! Curious? Continue reading to know our thoughts about it!

Venom (2018)

Venom Devours the Bad Reviews

We all love Spidey. Well, forget about him. This is his adversary’s time to shine! In the past Spider-Man movies, we saw several reincarnations of the Green Goblin. The superhero has a long list of foes that have been brought to life in the movies but now it is Venom’s turn for a second chance. We saw him first in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man Trilogy in Spider-Man 3. Topher Grace did a pretty good impression of the alien parasite. About a decade later, the anti-superhero character is returning to the big screen thanks to Tom Hardy. Are you ready to see Venom despite the amount of hate that it is receiving online? Well, we loved it and you should see why!

'Ant-Man and the Wasp' Sizes Up the Stakes

Alright, Bingers. Let’s talk about the elephant in the room: Avengers: Infinity War got most of the hype for all of the comic book movies this year. But still, there were still some left for Ant-Man and the Wasp. Clearly, there is still an immense excitement for the movie. I witnessed it myself during the special advanced screening on June 29 at the IMAX Theatre in SM Aura Premiere. The next question is, how does it live up to the hilarious first movie, Ant-Man? Continue reading my non-spoiler review to find out!
