We all want to lose weight for different reasons – for our health, to achieve the norms of the society, or to feel better. Personally, I lost weight for both health purposes and to feel good about myself. Growing up, I was a fat kid. My heaviest was at over 100 kg! As a fat kid, I was teased, bullied, and skipped on opportunities. It helped that I had the brains and I was always on top of class but other than that, being fat was bad for me overall. So, when I reached the age of 20, I became more self-conscious thus the drive to lose weight. In doing so, I tried different approaches: working out, health supplements, keto diet, and now Intermittent Fasting. Let’s talk about the keto diet. When I did it in 2017-2018, I saw RESULTS! But I stopped after almost a year despite being satisfied with it and here are why:

How is the pandemic treating you, Bingers? Are you still doing good? Still sane? I really do hope that you are still doing fine because I am, despite the INTENSE boredom and lockdown fever that hit me few weeks after the lockdown has started. In addressing it, I have done several activities to curb my attention: cooking, vlogging, gardening, and working out. And yes, let’s talk about the latter- working out. For regular gym-goers like I am, hitting the gym was a regular activity when our lives were still in normal, pre-COVID. But by the second week of March 2020, when the government-imposed lockdown happened nationwide, our gym-going routine was put on a halt. Our gains were lost, and weights increased. Well, for some because lucky me, I learned to love home workouts and I invested on my home gym setup. Recently, however, the government has announced that they will be lifting restrictions and gyms will be reopened soon. So, I asked myself, “should I return to the gym during the pandemic?”

Hi there, Bingers! So it’s been almost 3 months since we got on lockdown due to COVID-19. Since then, we spent every single day at home because we are restricted and it is not safe. My Sun Life Resolution Run 2019 Experience
Before 2018 ended, I looked back to my fitness journey. I maintained my ideal weight, I felt stronger, and I developed my body. Overall, I felt good about my physique and it boosted confidence. While I know that I am still far from my goal physically, I celebrated the progress that I had. After all, it has been a year of daily workout in Pound for Pound Makati. And so, for this year, I promised myself that I will continue my fitness journey. I kicked it off with Sun Life Resolution Run. This is the second time I participated in the run. At the same time last year, I conquered a 5-km run! Admittedly, I am not a runner so it was an achievement for me. This year, I kept the distance but improved my time.
