Netflix Films The Two Popes and Dead Kids Debut at Cinema One Originals

Bingers, we all have our favorite Netflix film. For me, it’s The King starring Timothy Chalamet. It’s so good it got me surprised that it didn’t get a wide release. As it turns out, it is becoming the trend for big movies to head straight to streaming sites such as Netflix! Now, at the 15th Cinema One Originals Film Festival, Netflix will be debuting two original films: The Two Popes and Dead Kids.

REVIEW: Doctor Sleep Will Leave You Sleepless

It has been 39 years since we last entered Overlook Hotel. It has been nearly 40 years since The Shining came out and the classic is still embedded in everybody’s head. Stanley Kubrick did a great job in adapting Stephen King’s novel, despite some controversy between the two creators. One’s taste did not match the other’s but as for us viewers, the film is such a classical masterpiece. So, this just raises the question: Should there really be a sequel? Honestly, if you ask me, I’d say yes. While the first movie was widely loved by many people, it was just a so-so for me. It was classified as a horror movie but I wasn’t scared, not even once! I saw it instead as a creative adaptation of family abuse. And at the core of the story, it truly is. The sequel to it, Doctor Sleep, changed my mind about the movie. It made me appreciate it even more as it dove deeper into its lore. So, Bingers, here is my review of Mike Flanagan’s Doctor Sleep.

Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) in Columbia PIctures' ZOMBIELAND: DOUBLE TAP. | The Little Binger

REVIEW: Zombieland 2: Double Tap - Blonde Saved The Day

When the first Zombieland movie came out in 2009, pop culture was crazy about zombies. I mean it was around that time we saw several zombie-centric titles and among of which is The Walking Dead! The world just can’t have enough of these brain-devouring monsters. And so, Zombieland became a cult favorite for mixing the genre with humor, a dark one. The premise was pretty straightforward- survive in a zombie-infested world. By introducing some crazy ideas and a wickedly hilarious mix of characters, the movie created a winning formula. Also, it has been a real mystery why Columbia Pictures took a decade to give the fans a much-awaited sequel! Bingers, if you are like me who has been waiting for the sequel for a decade, worry not because it was worth the wait! Before you head out to cinemas to scream in laughter, read first my quick movie review.

REVIEW: Joker Is In All of Us

We have failed as a society. That’s the hard truth that Joker is trying to tell us. As citizens of the society, we collectively failed to do our parts and in return, created monsters, the monster- Joker. I could go on and on and on with how much brilliance is in Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow’s unraveling of the iconic comic villain. Bingers, here is my review of Todd Phillips’ Joker.

REVIEW: Abominable Will Melt Your Frozen Heart

We grew up learning about the mystery of the Loch Ness monster and the chupacabras. We wondered about the existence of the UFOs. But if there’s one thing closest to our Asian hearts, that is the mystery of the Big Foot or Yeti. These mythical creatures have been a subject of fictional stories for the longest time. And on those occasions, they have always been painted as gruesome creatures who know nothing but to hunt for blood. In DreamWorks Animation’ and Pearl Studios’ Abominable, they were shown on a different light. It was a story of Asian family culture that is filled with heart and adventure. Bingers, here is our review of Abominable:

Crawl: Nature Shows Who Is King

Nature is scary. No, more like terrifying! Imagine hiking a mountain only to be chased by a snake. Or go diving only to be stung by a jellyfish. Or let’s go cliche and swim in the ocean and be bit by a shark! How about be at your lakeside home, be stuck on a flood, only to find out that a swarm of crocodile are waiting to devour you? I mean, that’s a huge serving of, “HELL NO! Nope!” Well, Bingers, that’s what happens in Alexandre Aja’s Crawl and it was crazily terrifying!!!

Well, if you cannot imagine a world without The Beatles, imagine no more because that is what Yesterday explored in the movie starring Himesh Patel, Lily James, Ed Sheeran, and Kate McKinnon! Taron Egerton is a revelation in Rocketman

Rocketman Takes Off To Great Heights!

Elton John. A legend. An icon.

Many of us know his songs. Personally, I only know few of his hits and none about his life. I am not proud of that as a pop culture enthusiast. But hey, it could be the generation gap that’s at play. That is a good thing because I saw Rocketman with a clean slate. United International Pictures invited me to the exclusive press screening last June 10 at their private theatre to see the Elton John biopic. I must admit, it took me by surprise how great the film is! Bingers, here’s our review of the movie! Read more about Rocketman Takes Off To Great Heights!
